Where it ends: Write a command-line script that reads files or a web page, transforms the data with regex and JSON, and logs what it did.
The first 5 lessons are free, no account needed. The rest are in Pro, ₹299/month. Anyone in an ops, support, finance or admin role, and beginners who want to be useful fast.
Automation work is making a repeated task disappear: renaming and merging files, pulling a report every Monday, scraping a page, reformatting a CSV for another system. In Python that is the standard library most of the time (pathlib, csv, json, re, datetime, argparse) plus requests and BeautifulSoup for the web. The scripts are small; the skill is making them robust, so they cope with a missing file or a changed column and tell you what happened. This is also the fastest way to make Python useful in a non-developer job.
Take the lessons top to bottom. Each opens with code you run in the browser and ends with graded exercises. Already know the foundations? The level test tells you where to jump in.
After this: Read and write everyday Python: variables, loops, lists, dicts, functions, errors.
After this: Modules, JSON, regex, dates, in-memory text and `with` blocks.
After this: Files and CSV, JSON, regex at scale, scraping, tidy records and a full workflow.
After this: A command-line interface and logs you can read the next morning.
Free and printable. Every snippet on them was run on Python 3.12 before publishing.
Free. Write your answer and run the tests in the browser; the tests check correctness, not speed.
Scrape a page, keep what matters, save it as your own archive. A complete script, start to finish.
Finishing this path gives you the Python part of the job. It is not, by itself, a qualification for it. The Automation & Scripting Engineer role page has the skills list and the workspace templates.
